In the third quarter of 2023, the top five dining and restaurant applications in Italy showed varied performance across downloads and active user metrics. Here’s a detailed look at how these apps fared, based on data from Sensor Tower.

McDonald’s - Non-US experienced fluctuating download numbers throughout Q3 2023, starting at around 60K in late June and dipping to approximately 43K in mid-August before rising again to about 54K in mid-September. Active users saw a similar pattern, beginning at roughly 2M in late June, dropping to around 1.3M in early August, and recovering to about 1.9M by mid-September.

TheFork - Restaurant bookings showed a notable decline in downloads over the quarter. From a peak of approximately 43K in mid-July, the numbers fell steadily to around 20K by the end of September. Weekly active users remained relatively stable, hovering around 90K to 100K throughout the quarter.

Burger King Italia had a more consistent performance in downloads, starting at around 24K at the end of June and gradually increasing to approximately 27K by mid-September. Active user numbers were also stable, starting at around 207K in late June and peaking at about 216K in mid-September.

KFC Italia saw a steady increase in downloads, starting from around 9.7K in late June and peaking at approximately 13.9K in mid-August. Weekly active users followed a similar upward trend, beginning at about 82K in late June and reaching around 91K by mid-August, maintaining this level through the end of September.

Roadhouse - R World experienced variable download numbers, starting at around 8.3K in late June, peaking at approximately 12.2K in mid-July, and then stabilizing at around 8.5K by the end of September. Active users showed a similar trend, starting at about 18K in late June, peaking at around 22K in late July, and stabilizing at approximately 18K by the end of September.
